Information about how the Scotch Irish / Ulster Scots Protestants from Northern Ireland helped to found the United States

This web page is designed to promote the Ulster-Scots heritage overseas, particularly among Scotch-Irish Americans, many of whom wrongly believe themselves to be Irish American.

Primarily focused on Northern Ireland and the border Counties of the Republic but also across the island of Ireland and especially the various Irish and Scotch-Irish around the world.

Amanda has been playing the accordion since the age of 8, under the guidance of Fred Hanna.  Over the years she has been influenced by many players including Fred Hanna, Mick Foster, Gary Blair, Declan Aungier and the late Jimmy Shand and Dermot O’Brien to name a few and is heavily influenced by Scottish Dance Bands and Ceilidh/Ceili Bands.

She has competed in and won numerous competitions both in Northern Ireland and further afield.
